I am enjoying [my] workstation and it’s helping greatly- my pain medicine intake is significantly lower on days I work from [my 0b-XL] — it’s so comfortable that I quite often get a 2 hour nap in the afternoons. I have learned not to recline too far unless I am prepared to sleep! I have added a platform to the top rail to keep the cat off the work desk part. So now she goes above and sleeps all day on top.
About 20 years ago when I was starting to have back pain I was thinking that something like this should exist, and I had no idea that it did exist until I started researching a few months ago when my back [pain] made it so I could not sit at all. In this position, I’m able to do CAD work for hours at a time in comfort. The only downside to this setup, is that I’m probably going to have to set a timer to remind myself to get up and walk around on occasion, because otherwise I’d probably work too long!
You spent the last 20+ years perfecting this workstation I’m using now. I haven’t forgotten about you and still loving the workstation every day…. changed my life!
The workstation is just excellent and changing my life. It’s so nice to be able to work without worrying about my joints. I’m healing up!
Without this workstation, I would not be able to perform a full-time job as co-director of Informatics. I wish I would have known about ErgoQuest over a decade earlier. The ErgoQuest team is a pleasure to work with and extremely helpful. While I prefer to be horizontal, every once in a while, it’s best to present fully upright. It takes only a few moments to adjust the chair, letting me put my legs where they need to be depending on pain levels.
I had used a standing desk because of back strain due to sitting, then added a treadmill because of the resulting foot and leg strain from standing, but that led to other issues. Finally bought an ErgoQuest workstation and was able to work several years in total comfort instead of retiring early.
Really appreciate your help. I’m really pleased with this desk. Even with the limitations I’ve had on it, it has made a huge difference for my shifts so far.
