How Nelson Beat a Brachial Plexus Injury with a Zero Gravity Workstation 7a
Before getting my ErgoQuest workstation, performing desk-based work was incredibly challenging. My brachial plexus injury (i.e. several nerves dislocated from the cervical vertebrae section of the spine, causing neck stiffness, left arm paralysis, and restricted left leg movement) severely limited my ability to sit and work optimally. I would suffer from severe pain in my neck and left upper arm, and sometimes experience “sleepy leg” – that uncomfortable numbness and tingling. The stiffness in my neck was constant, and my paralysed left arm made it nearly impossible to find a comfortable working position using traditional desks and chairs. I could barely work a few hours without experiencing debilitating pain and fatigue. My productivity suffered tremendously, and I worried about my ability to continue in my career [as a Programme Manager].
The Zero Gravity Workstation 7a has been absolutely life-changing. My left arm, neck, back, and leg have never been so at ease whilst working long hours. The tailor-made design, exceptional durability, and incredible customisation have allowed me to work with genuine comfort and efficiency. I can adjust the workstation’s position to the highest degree, finding the perfect angle and support for my unique needs.
This has dramatically increased my productivity – I can now work 10+ hours without significant pain or fatigue. I never would have imagined retaining such productivity levels given my disability, and I am profoundly grateful to ErgoQuest for making this dream a reality. The workstation hasn’t just improved my work life; it’s given me back my independence and confidence in my abilities.
