How Bettie Beat Ehler Danlos with a Zero Gravity Workstation 0b
Working with ErgoQuest has drastically changed my work life! I used to only work part time due to spinal and hip pain caused by Ehlers Danlos and frequent syncope from Dysautonomia. I can now comfortably work for hours without any pain, dislocated joints, or fainting. The ordering process was super easy, and modifications to make my workstation wheelchair transfer accessible were simple. I tried many one size fits all zero gravity chairs and workstations that that didn’t work for me. These options were often hard to customize, and the one size fits all models were often double the price of a custom ErgoQuest workstation. Throughout the process, it was great to work with a real person who could address your accessibility needs and questions; Jeff was spectacular! He walked me through the whole process asked all the right questions to get me into a workstation that worked best for me and my work space. The fact they are made to order and body dimensions makes a phenomenal difference. The options to customize colors, materials, added lighting, changing desk shape, and selecting accessories such as; side tables, laptop trays, copy trays, and adding on counter weight options feels like a luxury experience in the current one-size-fits-all home office industry.
My workstation has even made my life outside of work more enjoyable. Now that my body and nervous system don’t have to work so hard just keeping me upright I can spend my days off doing the things I love instead of recovering from the week’s work. I miss less work, I’m more productive while I’m at work and, I have more time unhindered by my disability symptoms associated with sitting at a desk 40 hours a week.
ErgoQuest’s made-to-order approach allows extensive customization options—including colors, materials, lighting choices, desk shapes, side tables, laptop trays, copy trays, and counterweight features—providing flexibility rarely found in standard home office products.
Beyond improving my productivity at work by reducing disability-related symptoms associated with prolonged sitting at a desk job, this ergonomic setup has also enhanced my quality of life outside of work. With less physical strain during the week, I have more energy to enjoy activities on my days off instead of spending time recovering from discomfort or fatigue related to traditional office furniture.
